What to expect during your first counselling services session with our psychologists
Your first session is really just a ‘get to know you’ time. In this session, your therapist will try to understand where you are right now and what you want to achieve through therapy.
Getting to know you
Your psychologist will ask you some very routine questions to learn more about you and understand your background and context.
Clarify your goals
Sometimes, your goals may not be clear at the start – and that’s okay! In time, and with guidance and support from your therapist, your goals will become much clearer.
Plan of action
Your psychologist will let you know how both of you can work together to achieve your goals, and they will suggest an action plan to help you achieve them. After this, your counselling process will be underway. As the saying goes, the more you put into the process, the more you get out of it.
If you have any questions or concerns along the way, our team is always here to help.
